Hemby Bridge Elementary PTO 2018-2019
Below is a description of the volunteer opportunities at Hemby Bridge Elementary. If you select an opportunity in the Signup Genius (Volunteer Signup 2018-2019), you will be contacted by the chairperson closer to the date of the program/event. Signing up now does not lock you into volunteering. It just gets you on the list to be notified. Time Commitment – 0 to 15 minutes:
Hospitality: Donation of food items for teacher luncheons or other teacher treats. (Thanks-Pie-Giving, Teacher Appreciation, Monthly Teacher Treats, etc.)
Classroom: Please ask your child’s teacher what they may need for their Classroom.
Time Commitment – 30 minutes to 1 hour each time:
Lunch Relief: Volunteers are needed in the cafeteria to watch students while teachers enjoy a duty free lunch.
Library: Volunteers are needed to properly check-in and shelve books.
Art Room: Volunteers are needed to help with art shows and school displays as needed by the art teacher. Artistic talent is not necessary, just the desire to help is needed.
Fun Run (October): Volunteers are needed to help during the Fun Run to organized prizes, activities in the school, set up run day, and volunteer day of run.
School Events: Volunteers are needed to help run tables at events (i.e. Back-2-School, Spring event, etc.)
Helping in the Classroom: Please ask your child’s teacher what they may need. Teachers may need volunteers to read to children, listen to children read, help with projects, making copies, chaperoning field trips, classroom parties, etc.
Time Commitment – 3 hours each time:
Box Tops: There are 2 “clip dates” for the year. Volunteers are needed to help cut out box tops to send in for cash.
Scholastic Book Fair: The book fair is held three times each school year. Volunteers are needed for set up, tear down, and to cover hours during the school day.
Time Commitment – 3 to 5 hours each time:
EOG Proctors: Volunteers help during EOG testing by monitoring the classroom while testing is taking place.
