Support Our School

There are many ways to support our school!  Look below to find out how you can help us support Hemby Bridge, our students, and our teachers.

VOLUNTEER – THREE FOR ME!

Three for Me is a promise; a promise to your child and to the school.  You promise to volunteer 3 hours of your time during the school year by signing a Three for Me promise form.  Whether it is helping in the classroom, reading to children, helping at a PTO event, proctoring during EOGs, lunch relief – the list is endless.  An hour or a day, it all matters and we truly appreciate your time and talents.

RE-LINK YOUR CARDS!

Harris-Teeter-LogoLast year, we received $929 from Food Lion and $400 from Harris Teeter.  We gain different incentives from these stores. The more peolpe link the cards the more discounts the PTO gets to help out the teachers each year. You must re-link your store card to Hemby Bridge each year. Re-link your card here:

TargetLIKE TO SHOP AT TARGET?

Target has a debit card and credit card program that gives you a 5% discount and our school 1% of every purchase.  Enroll today and link your card to #80998.

CLIP, CLIP, CLIP

Start clipping Box Tops from thousands of products (not just cereals).  Click here for a list of products to look for the next time you are shopping. You can also earn Box Tops by shopping online through Marketplace.  Box Tops will be collected two times during the year and prizes given to those who collect the most.  You receive discounts from participating retailers and HB receives Box Top points.

We also collect Campbell’s Soup Labels.  Clip the barcode and point value from participating products and place them in the collection bins in the library and in the lounge in the 3-5 building.  We earn points to use for fantastic items for our school!

 BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN

Our 2015-2016 fundraiser is “Boosterthon Fun Run.”  This great program is based on fun, fitness, character education, and making healthy choices for life. This fundraiser is vital in continuing the current PTO programs and in assisting the school. The students ask for a pledge/donation from family and friends in return for participating in the Fun Run. Donations are 100% tax deductible and many employers match donations. All money is used to support the school. There is nothing to sell! The PEP RALLY will be October 20th and our FUN RUN will be held October 29th. Parents are invited to both!

FAMILY SPIRIT NIGHTS

HB_Dog_BW_vert1Hemby Bridge will have restaurant and family fun nights at local establishments each month.  These businesses will donate a portion of the proceeds earned that night to Hemby Bridge.  Sometimes the business offers an incentive to the class with the highest participation.  Please check the PTO website or Facebook page for dates and times.  Prizes and spirit wear will be given out at various events.  Tell your friends, family, and neighbors to come out and support HBES!

SPONSOR OUR NEWSLETTER

We ask local merchants to sponsor our newsletter each month.  If you have a business and are interested in sponsoring our newsletter, please contact Jennifer Schwarz.  We would love to spotlight your business in our newsletter and on our website.

MENTORING

The Mentoring Committee needs you to make it a huge success!  We will pair adults with an individual child or group of children who benefit from a little help outside the classroom.  The teacher will give you an “assignment” each week.  It is a 30 minute time commitment, once a week.  That’s all!  We would love to have grandparents, aunts, uncles, retired individuals and anyone else in the community willing to give their time.  If you are interested in mentoring, please contact Jennifer Schwarz.

POP THOSE TABS!

Each year, we turn in several hundred pounds of pop tabs from aluminum cans.  This recycling opportunity benefits the Ronald McDonald house, which provides assistant to families of seriously ill children.  Pop tabs may be dropped off in the media center.  Thank you for your support of this project and to Mrs. Helms (teacher assistant) for coordinating this collection.
