Dear Hemby Bridge Bulldog Families,

The Hemby Bridge PTO would like to welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year! Our organization is a non-profit, member based group that works to support our teachers and school so that our children get the best. Please show your support for school by becoming a member of the PTO. Membership is $5 per family and families that join will receive a Bulldog notepad and the first choice of dates for the Bulldog spirit rock through 10/1.

We support the staff at Hemby Bridge two ways, with volunteer hours and with financial support. The “Three for Me” program is our volunteer effort where we ask every parent to pledge 3 hours over the course of the year to help out at the school. There are numerous opportunities to help out during and after school hours; including lunch relief, mentoring, restocking the library shelves, helping to decorate for the Boosterthon, running concessions at the school dance, or helping clean up the grounds on beautification days. Our biggest volunteer need comes during testing season when we help to proctor the EOGs. Don’t forget to check your company’s volunteer policy – you might even get paid to help out at your child’s school a few hours here and there!

We use over 95% of the funds we raise to support the school and teachers in instructional and program support. Our major fundraiser is the Boosterthon Fun Run which combines a Character Education and Fitness curriculum. The kids, teachers and many parents are fans of the program and we invite you to check it out at the Pep Rally October 20th. The Boosterthon Fun Run is on October 29th and we invite all to attend! We also host book fairs, restaurant nights and clip Box Tops. You can also link your Food Lion, Harris Teeter and Target cards for Hemby Bridge to get a little money back.  Thank you for your support!

Please visit this website, the school’s website, www.hbes.k12.nc.us, or the PTO Facebook page for updated school information.  We look forward to seeing you out and about and wish you a happy year! Please contact me with any questions, concerns or suggestions throughout the year!
